MAIN DUTIES



The main duties of the job will be to:


To greet and seat customers and make them feel welcome.

To give out menus and water to customers and provide recommendations about food and drink (wines, ales and ciders), and answer any questions about how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods, dealing with any allergies / intolerances.

To take orders and give them to the kitchen staff.

To prepare and serve beverages and alcoholic drinks in line with our alcohol policy.

To serve hot and cold food.

To check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.

To collect payments from customers.

To remove dishes and glasses from tables and take them to kitchen for cleaning.

To set up tables for service.

To set up breakfast buffet items for breakfast.

To clean tables and sweep up after service.

To take reservations over the phone or in person.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE



Have at least a year’s experience of working in a busy restaurant / customer-facing hospitality role.


Have experience of serving behind a bar, but full training will be given. 


Be punctual and reliable.

Be clean and presentable.

Have excellent communication skills and ability to talk confidently about our food and drink, providing a 5 star customer service experience.


Be able to speak Welsh fluently (preferred but not essential).

Have access to transport to and from work (lifts are often available from other staff) or be a resident of the village.

TERMS & CONDITIONS



DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position is fixed term until 31st October. 


SALARY

The hourly rate is £8.25 - £11.00 an hour plus tips. All tips are shared out equally between members of staff.

HOLIDAYS
You will be entitled to paid leave based on the numbers of hours that you do. 

WORKING HOURS



01June - 31 October
You will generally do 25 hours a week working 4 shifts between Wednesday - Sunday 4:30 - 10:30.
