Around You

The nearest supermarket is in Llanrwst, where they have a Co-op which is open from 7:00am to 10:00pm. Closer by however, there are some smaller shops which tend to have most things you’re likely to need during a short break.

Turn left outside Olif, and Spar is just a few buildings along. They’re open from 8:00am until 10:00pm daily selling groceries and alcohol and also have a bakery where you can get fresh bread, pastries and cakes. Try one of their speciality ‘Oggis’ – a traditional Welsh savoury pasty. You can also buy sandwiches – they’ll even make one up for you, if their selection doesn’t tickle your fancy.

Or, turn right outside Olif, head past St Mary’s Church, and you’ll see Londis which also doubles as a Post Office during the day. The shop is open from 6:00am – 10:00pm and sells groceries and alcohol.

There’s one newsagent in the village, Pendyffryn Stores. Keep going past Londis and pass the Gwydir, and Glan Aber hotels. Go past Artworks 2 Celf Gallery, and the shop is just on your right. Spar sell a small selection of newspapers too.

The Post Office is housed within Londis (see above), and is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 – 17:30pm and 9:00 – 12:30pm on Saturdays.

There are 3 cashpoints in the village. One in the Petrol station just before the Waterloo Hotel, one at Pendyffryn Stores, and one at Hen Siop (fish and chip shop). There is also a cash machine in Spar, who also provide cashback.

The petrol station is located on Holyhead Road, just before the Waterloo Bridge. Head right from Olif and you’ll find it on your right, just after the Waterloo Hotel.

The Tourist Information Centre is based in the Royal Oak Stables. Turn right outside Olif, and cross the road.
